Dr. Stephen Veigh Joins the Radiology staff at Fawcett Memorial Hospital

Port Charlotte, FL (October 30, 2006)  —  Fawcett Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the addition of  Stephen V. Veigh, D.O. to the Radiology Department.  Dr. Veigh is a Board Certified Neuroradiologist.  A graduate of the University of New England School of Medicine, Dr. Veigh completed his residency at a St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at NYU Medical Center.  Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Veigh practiced Chiropractic, having graduated from New York Chiropractic College. 

At Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Dr. Veigh specializes in MRI, Spinal Imaging, Head and Neck Imaging and Myelography.

I'm confident that his personality and expertise in neurology will be a great benefit to Fawcett’s certified Stroke Program and our community."

Originally from New York, NY, Dr. Veigh joined the medical staff at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in August, 2006. “Dr. Veigh is the only board certified Neuroradiologist in Charlotte County,” said Fawcett radiologist Dr. Ramanan Venkat. “There is a growing need in this community for a professional with expertise in neurological issues.  Fawcett took the extra step to bring in someone with maximum training.”

Fawcett Memorial Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Department is anchored by Radiology’s foundation.  The facility has 2 CT Scanners, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, a Specialized Angiographic and Interventional Radiology Suite and multiple radiology rooms.  The department also houses portable imaging equipment that is utilized during surgery and for x-raying patients in bed.  The mammography suite is staffed by Certified Mammographers and is inspected annually, in accordance with the MQSA Standards.  Bone Density testing is offered to provide readings of bone structure, to determine if a patient has osteoporosis.  All images taken at Fawcett Memorial Hospital are interpreted by Board Certified Radiologists.  Our Radiologists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, to ensure quality care for our patients whenever it is needed. 
  
Fawcett Memorial Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital located at 21298 Olean Blvd. in Port Charlotte, FL.
